Summary:
The Telecommunications Attendant/Hospital Operator provides customers with caring and personalized service while responding to calls and taking messages.
Demonstrates regard for the dignity and respect of patients, family members, visitors, and medical center personnel.
Creates a helpful, positive, first impression of Nuvance Health.
Responsibilities:
Operate multi-position console and other communication systems to process calls and ensure accurate and timely hospital communications Represent Nuvance Health in a positive manner by displaying a caring and courteous attitude to all persons Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of all patients and guests Answer all calls in a prompt and professional manner, exhibiting proper customer service skills at all times, using the approved greeting Direct calls to the correct department and individual.
Utilize the provided web-based system when directing calls to a patient room.
Greet and check-in visitors in a professional manner, provide visiting hours and information Handle emergency procedures in a calm and timely manner.
Use paging and announcement systems appropriately.
Demonstrate sense of urgency.
Answer emergency code calls within 2 rings Ensure department logs are up-to-date and accurate.
Requirements:
HS Diploma or GED 1 to 2 years job-related customer service experience Basic level of Microsoft Word and Excel Preference given to applicants with healthcare/hospital and switchboard/receptionist experience Location:

Per Diem/Days and Evenings Variable 4 - 6 hour shifts from 8am-8pm including weekends Salary Range:
$16-20/Hr.
